Hawks fall to Drury in conference opener

The Rockhurst women's soccer team opened conference play with a 1-0 loss to Drury Friday night at Bourke Field.

Drury scored the lone goal of the game in the 15th minute on a header shot by Andrea Camargo from three yards out coming off a corner kick.

Rockhurst outshot the Panthers, 14-13. The Hawks had eight shots in the first half and six shots in the second half.

Cameron Murphy led the Hawks with six shots. Freshman Gabby Hennessy added four shots, including two shots on goal. Freshman Taylor James finished with five saves.

The Hawks (1-4, 0-1 GLVC) play at Southwest Baptist on Sunday at noon.
