Leetch earns Academic All-American first-team honors

Jillian Leetch Leetch is the first RU women’s soccer player to earn Academic All-America® honors since 2016.
Rockhurst soccer standout Jillian Leetch was named Tuesday to the 2020-21 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division II Women's Soccer First Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Leetch is the fifth Academic All-American in RU women's soccer history. She graduated this spring with a degree in Business Administration after earning GLVC Offensive Player of the Year and first team All-GLVC honors.

The senior midfielder and team captain from Lee's Summit, Missouri scored 56 points in 64 career games for the Hawks. Leetch was also named a Division 2 Scholar All-American by the United Soccer Coaches.

Leetch is the first Rockhurst women's soccer player to earn Academic All-America® honors since 2016 (Kristin Wolff) and first first-team honoree since 2014 (Taylor Skala).

The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2020-21 Division II Academic All-America® program.

Based on the absence of most fall sports competition, the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Committee revised some rules and procedures for nominating student-athletes this season. Due to the low percentage of games completed this season, the nominees were selected based on career statistics and achievements.
