The Rockhurst men's lacrosse team is one of 18 Division II programs to receive the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Academic Team Award.
This is the first year the USILA has recognized individual programs for their overall academic excellence. To earn the USILA Team Academic Award, a program must post at least a 3.0 team GPA.
The Hawks had another strong performance in the classroom, posting a 3.21 GPA for the 2020-21 academic year. Rockhurst is one of four GLVC institutions to earn the Team All-Academic Award alongside Lindenwood, Indianapolis and Davenport.
Seniors Graden Soucy and Sal Valdivia were named USILA Division II Scholar All-Americans. Soucy finished with a 4.0 grade point average in Exercise Science this year. Valdivia finished up his master's degree in Business Administration this spring.
Only 42 Division II student-athletes from across the nation were honored for the 2020-21 academic year. To be eligible for the USILA Scholar All-American award, students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be a senior academically.
