Hawks fall short in GLVC Tournament semifinals

Rockhurst came up short in the semifinals of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Lacrosse Tournament, falling to Indianapolis 10-8 Friday in St. Charles, Missouri.

The 10th-ranked Greyhounds (9-2) jumped out to a 5-3 halftime lead and scored three unanswered goals in the third period to take an 8-5 lead.

Rockhurst cut Indy's lead to 9-8 with 5:44 left in the game behind two goals from Sam Lindahl and a goal from Brooks Hanson. The Greyhounds scored an insurance goal at the 3:09 mark.

Lindahl led the 20th-ranked Hawks (8-5) with five goals on 10 shots. Hanson posted two goals (on six shots), one assist and three ground balls. Ricky Bloom added one goal on five shots.

Matt Campion tallied two assists, six ground balls and three caused turnovers. Sal Valdivia and Nick Mostrom combined for 13 faceoff wins and 13 ground balls. Hayden Harris finished with 13 saves.
