Hawks fall to Lewis in GLVC Tournament

The Rockhurst baseball 2021 season ended on Friday as the Hawks fell to Lewis, 17-5, in the GLVC Baseball Championship Tournament at the Lou Brock Complex in St. Charles, Missouri.

Lewis (24-17) pitched out of a bases loaded and one-out situation in the first inning. The Flyers proceeded to score four runs in the second inning and seven more in the third.

The Hawks scored all of their runs in the final three innings. Senior outfielder Hunter Sands drove in two runs with a double in the seventh and a fielder's choice RBI in the eighth. Ty Herrenbruck singled home a run in the eighth. Malik Stevenson had an RBI single and Devon Farrell added a fielder's choice RBI in the ninth.

Gage Gulley, Peyton Smith and Clayton Medlin held the Flyers scoreless on two hits over the final three innings.

The Hawks end the season with a 23-19 record.
