Hawks fall to top-ranked Lions in GLVC Tournament

The Rockhurst women's lacrosse team fell to the top-ranked Lindenwood Lions, 16-6, in the semifinals of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament Friday in Lebanon, Illinois.

Lindenwood scored the first seven goals of the game and took a 9-1 lead into halftime. Rockhurst opened the second half on a 4-1 run to cut the Lions' lead to 10-5.

Helen Krause led the Hawks with four goals on five shots. Marianna Anderson finished with one goal and three draw controls.

Mackenzie Blair collected two draw controls, two ground balls and one caused turnover. Kelly Marion added three ground balls.

Rockhurst (6-7) finished with 15 shots and 16 ground balls. Sydney Shindler and Madeline Morrison combined for 14 saves and four ground balls.
