Hawks end home schedule with walk-off wins

The Rockhurst softball team wrapped up their home schedule with a pair of walk-off victories over Quincy Sunday on Senior Day at RU's Loyola Park.

Dominique Salinas gave the Hawks a 2-1 win in the first game with a two-out home run to left field in the bottom of the seventh.

Maya Gallagher doubled home the winning run with two outs in the seventh to give the Hawks a 5-4 victory in the second game.

The Hawks rallied from a 4-0 deficit to tie the score in the seventh on a solo homer by Josie Lindemann. Lauren Marks walked and advanced to second on a groundout before scoring the winning run on Gallagher's double to left field.

Gallagher, Lindemann and Marks combined for nine hits and five RBIs in Game Two. In the fifth inning, Lindemann singled home a run and Marks had a two-run single. Allison Shakiba hit a solo homer in the fourth in Game One.

Lexie Storrer was the winning pitcher in both games. She held Quincy to one run on four hits with nine strikeouts in the first game. She pitched one scoreless inning in the second game for her 17th win of the season.

Rockhurst (22-12, 15-9 GLVC) next plays at Truman State on Saturday, May 1.
