Home runs help Hawks collect two wins

Emily Clark and Lauren Marks connected on two-run home runs to power Rockhurst to a 10-2 victory over Illinois Springfield in the second game of a conference doubleheader Saturday at RU's Loyola Park.

Clark's homer to left field in the fourth gave the Hawks a 7-1 lead. Marks ended the game with a shot over the center-field wall in the sixth.

Shelby Winkelman and Clark led the Hawks with three RBIs apiece. Winkelman hit a bases-loaded double in the second. Allison Shakiba, Clark, Josie Lindemann and Clare Reinhart each collected two hits.

Olivia Prather (4-6) allowed two runs on six hits over six innings.

In the first game, Maya Gallagher hit a walk-off single with the bases loaded to give the Hawks a 2-1 win.

Winkelman homered to center in the first to tie the score at 1-1. Marks and Reinhart each had two hits.

Lexie Storrer (15-4) gave up on one run on three with nine strikeouts in seven innings.

Rockhurst (20-12, 13-9 GLVC) hosts Quincy on Sunday, April 24.
