Eisenbarger hurls gem in 7-2 win over Drury

Rockhurst rode the pitching of Jack Eisenbarger and a timely offense to post a 7-2 victory over Drury in the first game of a GLVC doubleheader Friday at RU's Loyola Park.

Eisenbarger held the Panthers to two runs on four hits while striking out 10 to win his fourth game of the season.

The Hawks jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the third inning. Tyler Stamer had an RBI single and Cameron Gardner collected a sacrifice fly in the second. Nic Mertes scored on a wild pitch and Tommy Kraus added a sacrifice fly in the third.

Stamer hit a solo home run to left field and Ethan Kleinheider singled home two runs in the sixth.

Drury rebounded to win the second game, 27-12. The Panthers scored 17 runs in the first two innings and added five runs in the sixth.

Brandt Callahan led the Hawks with three hits and two RBIs. Devon Farrell, Joe Specht and Hunter Sands each had two hits.

The Hawks (11-8, 8-7 GLVC) closes out their series with Drury with a noon game on Saturday.
