McKendree rallies to edge Hawks, 13-12

McKendree rallied in the second half to edge Rockhurst, 13-12, Monday in Lebanon, Illinois

The Bearcats scored the first five goals in the second half to tie the score at 7-7. Rockhurst went on a 4-2 run to take an 11-9 with 10:25 left. McKendree scored four of the last five goals over the final 10 minutes of the game.

Danielle Mabry led the Hawks with four goals on seven shots. Catey Roux scored three goals on four shots. Helen Krause tallied two goals and Jaeden Waschbusch collected two goals and five ground balls.

Mackenzie Blair collected four draw controls and two ground balls. Madison Cook had three draw controls goals.

Nia Callion and Audrey Titzer each had three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Sydney Shindler finished with 10 saves and four ground balls.

On Sunday, the Hawks fell at second-ranked Lindenwood, 18-9. Marianna Anderson led Rockhurst with four goals, four draw controls and three ground balls. Roux added two goals and three draw controls.

The Hawks (4-6) return home to host Quincy on Friday afternoon.
