Hawks end regular season with 2-1 win at Jewell

The Rockhurst men's soccer team posted a 2-1 win over William Jewell to end the season with their third consecutive victory Sunday in Liberty, Missouri.

Nick Lumbard scored the winning goal on a nine-yard shot with 17 minutes left in regulation. Parker Esparza and Federico Verlicchi assisted on the goal.

Jacob Weaver gave the Hawks a 1-0 lead with his third goal of the season just two minutes into the game. Elluan Martins Gomes was credited with the assist.

Jewell tied the score in the 61st minute on a 10-yard shot from Carson Lee.

Rockhurst (6-4-3) posted 11 shots and seven shots on goal. Jewell finished with seven shots and three shots on goal.

Weaver, Martins Gomes and Matthew Carey led the Hawks with two shots apiece. Fabio D'Errico made two saves in winning his third game of the season.
