Hawks post 3-0 victory over Missouri S&T

Mallory Mumby posted a goal and an assist to lead Rockhurst to a 3-0 victory over Missouri S&T Friday night at RU's Bourke Field.

Mumby scored in the 14th minute to give the Hawks an early 1-0 lead. Mumby knocked in a rebound shot from 18 yards out. The S&T goalkeeper stopped shots by Greta Seal and Hannah Byrne before Mumby beat the keeper.

McKenna Leetch left-footed a shot from six yards out to make it 2-0 for her first goal of the season. Jillian Leetch and Sydney Baker assisted on the goal in the 38th minute.

Hannah Byrne tallied the final goal in the 85th minute with assists from Mumby and Olivia Van Belle. Byrne beat the S&T keeper off a left cross from Mumby from five yards out.

Seal, Byrne and Mumby led the Hawks with three shots apiece. Van Belle added two shots. Megan Meyers shut out the Miners for her first shutout of the season.

The Hawks (2-0-1) host Maryville on Sunday.
