Hawks drop doubleheader at Lindenwood

Lindenwood held Rockhurst to one run on two hits in posting a 3-1 victory in the second game of a conference softball doubleheader Saturday in St. Charles, Missouri.

The Lions doubled home two runs in the second and added an unearned run in the fifth to take a 3-0 lead.

Allison Shakiba tripled and scored on an error by the Lions' shortstop in the sixth.

Olivia Prather (3-3) allowed three runs on eight hits in six innings.

The Lions edged the Hawks, 4-3, in the first game. Lindenwood scored two runs in the second to take a 3-1 lead and added another run in the sixth.

Josie Lindemann led the Hawks with three hits and two RBIs. She doubled home a run in the third and hit a solo home run in the seventh.

Lexie Storrer (8-3) allowed four runs on eight hits and struck out three in six innings.

Rockhurst (11-7, 6-4 GLVC) plays at Missouri-St. Louis on Sunday.
