Hawks cruise past Augustana, 6-1

The Rockhurst men's tennis team posted a 6-1 victory over Augustana (S.D.) Saturday at the Genesis Health Club in St. Joseph, Missouri.

The Hawks swept the three doubles matches. Simon Birgerson and Martijn Eleveld were winners in No. 1 doubles by a 6-3 score. Alex Bernadas and Nicolas Leon captured No. 2 doubles, 6-3. Santiago Rodriguez and Brian King posted a 7-5 victory in No. 3 doubles.

Birgerson won his No. 1 singles match, 6-1, 6-3, over Augustana's Cade Damgaard. Eleveld posted a 6-1, 6-3 win in No. 2 singles. Nicolas Leon collected a 6-1, 6-3 win in No. 3 singles. Joe Harris was victorious in No. 4 singles, 6-4, 6-4. Rodriquez was a 6-4, 6-3 winner in No. 5 singles.

The Hawks (3-0) will be back in action March 19 against Harding at the Plaza Tennis Center.
