Hawks run into strong Missouri S&T hitting duo

Two players combined for 36 kills to lead Missouri S&T to a 3-1 victory over Rockhurst (25-21, 23-25, 25-14, 25-18) Sunday at RU's Mason-Halpin Field House.

Payton Gannaway paced the Miners with 21 kills and 12 digs, while teammate Avery Reed tallied 15 kills.

Audrey Arand led the Hawks with 15 kills and a .290 hitting percentage. Justice Wingate and Logan Gronewold combined for 12 kills and five blocks.

Dani Prusha posted 21 assists and 11 digs. Brynn Bonewell had a team-high 14 digs. Gabbie Inman added 14 assists and four digs.

Set One: Missouri S&T 25, Rockhurst 20
The Miners ended the set on a 10-3 run. S&T posted 18 kills, while the Hawks totaled 11 kills.

Set Two: Rockhurst 25, Missouri S&T 23
The Hawks rallied from a 14-11 deficit. Audrey Arand led the Hawks with five kills.
