Rockhurst returns home for three-game homestand

Senior guard Curtis Lewis is one point shy of 1,500 career points.
The Rockhurst men return to friendly confines of Mason-Halpin Field House riding a four-game winning streak. The Hawks host McKendree on Thursday (7:30 p.m.), Southern Indiana on Saturday (4 p.m.) and Drury on Tuesday (5:30 p.m.).

Rockhurst, 8-6, is currently in fifth place in the GLVC Point Rating System, which decides the top eight teams for the GLVC Tournament.

Senior guard Curtis Lewis leads the team in scoring (13.7 pg) and is one point shy of 1,500 career points. He combined for 29 points in road wins at Lindenwood and Missouri-St. Louis last week.

Junior forward Nick Volz is shooting over 60 percent from the field while averaging 10.6 points and a team-high 6.7 rebounds per game.

McKendree, 4-5, is coming off a 75-69 loss at Quincy last Saturday. Sophomore guard Bryson Bultman ranks seventh in the GLVC in scoring (17.2 pg).

Southern Indiana, 7-3, had its last four games postponed due to Covid protocols. The Eagles have won four of their last five games. Senior forward Josh Price ranks fourth in scoring (18.3 pg) and second in rebounding (9.8 pg) in the GLVC.

Drury, 5-8, has lost its last five games since defeating the Hawks, 91-81, on Jan. 16 in Springfield. Senior guard Conley Garrison ranks sixth in scoring (17.8 pg) in the GLVC.
