Truman holds off Hawks for overtime win

Rockhurst rallied to force overtime before falling to Truman State, 76-69, Thursday night in Kirksville, Missouri.

Truman ended the overtime period on a 12-2 run to win their 13th game of the season. The Hawks jumped out to a 67-64 lead in overtime behind five points from Daly Sullivan.

Rockhurst rallied from a 59-51 deficit at the 3:53 mark in regulation to take a 62-61 lead on a 3-pointer by Lani Thompson with 16 seconds left.

Truman tied the game with a free throw with 15 seconds left and forced a Rockhurst turnover in the final seconds of regulation.

Daly Sullivan led the Hawks with 17 points on six-of-13 shooting. Monika Faerber scored 12 points on five-of-nine shooting.

Keegan Sullivan and Ella Wedergren combined for 17 points. Molly Hummel collected eight points and 10 rebounds. Thompson added seven points and five rebounds.

Rockhurst scored 26 points in the paint while shooting 41.5 percent from the field (27 of 65).

Truman, 13-3, made 25-of-48 field goals (52.1 percent). Hannah Belanger led the Bulldogs with 25 points.

The Hawks, 8-11, end the regular season at William Jewell on Saturday.
