Strong finish carries Hawks past Quincy

Rockhurst scored 29 points in the fourth quarter to pull away for a 71-55 victory over Quincy in the Hawks' final home game Saturday at RU's Mason-Halpin Field House.

The Hawks connected on 11 of 19 field goals (57.9 percent) in the fourth quarter. Daly Sullivan and Jessina Rada combined for 17 points in the final 10 minutes.

Rockhurst went on a 22-8 run to take a 49-39 lead with 8:47 left and closed the game on a 19-9 run.

Sullivan led the Hawks with 21 points while hitting six shots from behind the 3-point line. She made three 3-point shots in the fourth quarter.

Monika Faerber posted 10 points, 17 rebounds, five assists and six steals. Molly Hummel and Rada scored 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Lani Thompson collected nine points and five rebounds. Ella Wedergren added eight points, five assists and five steals.

Rockhurst scored 34 points in the paint while shooting 36.6 percent from the field (26 of 71).

Quincy, 2-16, made 18-of-52 field goals (34.6 percent). Aleksandra Petrovic and Jazzpher Evans led the Hawks with 18 points apiece.

The Hawks remain in 11th place in the GLVC Points Rating System with an 8-10 record. Rockhurst plays at Truman State on Thursday.
