Second-quarter run leads Hawks past SBU

Four players combined for 64 points and 11 three-pointers to lead Rockhurst an 81-69 victory over Southwest Baptist in the Hawks' home opener Thursday night at Mason-Halpin Field House.

The Hawks jumped out to a 45-33 halftime lead after outscoring the Bearcats 26-9 in the second quarter. Keegan Sullivan scored 13 of her 18 points in the second quarter.

Daly Sullivan led the Hawks with 19 points on eight-of-12 shooting. The senior guard gave the Hawks a 71-59 lead with 4:45 left after hitting her third 3-pointer.

Keegan Sullivan finished with a team-high nine rebounds and six assists. Meghan Urbanski came off the bench to score 17 points with three 3-pointers. Reagan Dodd tallied 10 points and seven rebounds. Rebeca Garcia added eight points and eight rebounds.

Southwest Baptist, 3-4, made 24-of-67 field goals (35.8 percent). Nyah Pettus led the Bearcats with 25 points and six rebounds.
