Hawks end Florida trip with loss to Eckerd

The 19th-ranked Eckerd Tritons pulled away over the final six minutes to record a 54-40 victory over Rockhurst on the final day of the Mocs Christmas Classic Saturday in Lakeland, Florida.

Eckerd ended the game on a 14-5 run to keep their record perfect at 9-0. Rockhurst missed eight of its last nine shots from the field.

The Hawks held Eckerd to five points on two-of-17 shooting in the second quarter to go into the tied at 22-all. Daly Sullivan scored 10 points in the first half while hitting a pair of 3-pointers.

Sullivan led the Hawks with 17 points and three steals. Lani Thompson posted a team-high 11 rebounds. Keegan Sullivan added eight points, seven rebounds and three blocked shots.

The Tritons connected on 18-of-61 shots from the field (29.5 percent). Sofia Persson led Eckerd with 18 points.
