Rockhurst holds off Eagles for 3-2 victory

Rockhurst held off a late rally in the fifth set by Southern Indiana to record a 3-2 victory (23-25, 25-23, 25-22, 24-26, 15-12) Friday night at RU's Mason-Halpin Field House.

The Hawks jumped out to an 11-5 lead in the fifth set. Southern Indiana survived three match points to cut Rockhurst's lead to 14-12. Logan Gronewold ended the match with her fifth kill of the match.

Averi Vomastic led the Hawks with 13 kills and 18 digs. Justice Wingate and Tera Reberry both finished with 12 kills and four blocks. Sydney McDonald added a team-high six blocks.

Maureen Reilly posted a team-high 30 digs. Gabbie Inman collected 29 assists and 16 digs. Sarah Montague tallied 21 assists and 13 digs.
