Bodeau, Bateman receive Academic All-District® honors

Zach Bodeau and Connor Bateman of the Rockhurst men's lacrosse team have been selected to the 2020 Academic All-District® Division II Men's At-Large team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Bodeau and Bateman helped the Hawks win 44 games over the past four years. Bodeau is a senior majoring in Criminal Justice and Psychology with a 4.0. Bateman, also a senior, is majoring in Biochemistry and Pre-Med with a 3.93 GPA.

A native or Centennial, Colorado, Bodeau was the 2019 GLVC Specialty Player of the Year and was First Team All-GLVC midfielder in 2019. He earned First Team All-RMAC honors in 2017 and 2018.

Bodeau ranks second in faceoff winning percentage (.749) and fourth in ground balls (381) among active NCAA Division II players. He led the GLVC in faceoff winning percentage and ground balls in 2019.

Bodeau was a First Team At-Large Academic All-American in 2019 and a Second Team At-Large Academic All-American in 2018. He was the GLVC Scholar-Athlete of Year for Men's Lacrosse in 2019 and named First Team Academic All-RMAC in 2018.

A native of Apple Valley, Minnesota, Bateman was named a 2020 All-American defender by Inside Lacrosse magazine. He was a First Team All-GLVC honoree in 2019. He was named the 2018 RMAC Defensive Player of the Year and was a First Team All-RMAC Defender in 2017 and 2018.

Bateman ranks 21st in ground balls (168) among active NCAA Divison II players. He posted 91 career caused turnovers and ranked second in caused turnovers in the GLVC in 2019. He was a Third Team At-Large Academic All-American and First Team Academic All-RMAC in 2018.

The 2020 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's At-Large Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom.

The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and the NAIA.
 
Honorees selected first-team Academic All-District® will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. Academic All-America® honorees will be announced from June 16-19.
 
The Division II and III CoSIDA Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2019-20 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CoSIDA Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
