Bodeau headlines CoSIDA Academic All-America® D2 Men's At-Large Team

Zach Bodeau is the first three-time Academic All-America® honoree in school history.

Rockhurst senior lacrosse midfielder Zach Bodeau was selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) as the Academic All-America® Division II Men's At-Large Team Member of the Year.

Bodeau is the first three-time Academic All-America® honoree in school history. The Centennial, Colorado, native graduated in May with a perfect 4.00 grade-point average with a double major in criminal justice and psychology. Bodeau received first team honors in 2019 and 2020 after a second team selection in 2018.

"Zach is an incredibly talented individual – and that skill set is not singularly limited to the athletic scope. Zach is routinely the last person to leave the lacrosse field, putting in extra work to improve his own game for the betterment of the team," said RU head coach Kevin Kelley. "In addition, there have been countless long bus rides where Zach is sitting in his respective seat writing a paper, reading a textbook or studying for an exam. Zach understands the additional work pays off, but he also enjoys putting in the work."

The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2019-20 Division II Academic All-America® program. CoSIDA continued its sponsorship of the Academic All-America awards program. Student-athletes were selected based on career statistics.

The at-large program for the CoSIDA Academic All-America® program includes the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming and diving, tennis, water polo for both men and women; bowling, crew and field hockey for women; and volleyball and wrestling for men.

Bodeau helped the Hawks win 44 games during his four-year career. He was the 2019 GLVC Specialty Player of the Year and a first team All-GLVC midfielder the same season. He received first team All-RMAC honors in 2017 and 2018.

On the NCAA Division II career statistical charts, Bodeau ranks second in faceoff winning percentage (.749) and fourth in ground balls (381) among active players. He led the GLVC in faceoff winning percentage and ground balls in 2019.
