Bateman named to CoSIDA Academic All-America® First Team

Connor Bateman graduated in May with a 3.93 GPA in biochemistry.
Rockhurst senior lacrosse defender Connor Bateman has been selected to the 2020 Academic All-America® Division II Men's At-Large First Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Bateman, who helped the Hawks win 44 games over the past four years, graduated in May with a 3.93 GPA in biochemistry.

A native of Apple Valley, Minnesota, Bateman was named a 2020 All-American defender by Inside Lacrosse magazine. He was a First Team All-GLVC
honoree in 2019. He was named the 2018 RMAC Defensive Player of the Year and was a First Team All-RMAC Defender in 2017 and 2018.

Bateman ranks 21st in ground balls (168) among active NCAA Division II players. He posted 91 career caused turnovers and ranked second in caused turnovers in the GLVC in 2019. He was a CoSIDA Third Team At-Large Academic All-American and First Team Academic All-RMAC in 2018.

The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2019-20 Division II Academic All-America® program. CoSIDA continued its sponsorship of the Academic All-America awards program. Student-athletes were selected based on career statistics.

The at-large program for the CoSIDA Academic All-America® program includes the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming and diving, tennis, water polo for both men and women; bowling, crew and field hockey for women; and volleyball and wrestling for men.
