The Rockhurst women's tennis team posted a 2-1 record in Orlando, Florida this week. The Hawks (3-3) defeated the University of Mary, 6-1, on Monday and Northwood, 4-3, on Tuesday before falling to Ferris State, 5-2, on Wednesday.
The Hawks swept the three doubles matches against Mary. RU's
Sam Czarnecki and
Kate Merrick were winners in No. 1 doubles by a 6-0 score. Paulo Romero and
Andrea Dabbah captured their No. 2 double match, 6-2.
Dina Dudic and
Mary Grace Harris won No. 3 doubles, 6-3.
Czarnecki, Romero, Dudic, Merrick and Dabbah won in straight sets in No. 1-5 singles against Mary.
Rockhurst rallied from a 1-0 defict after doubles to edge Northwood. Czarnecki, Dudic and Merrick were winners in straight sets in singles, Romero and Dabbah won their matches in three sets. Dabbah clinched the team win with a 6-4 win in the third set in No. 5 singles.
Czarnecki and Merrick captured their No. 1 and 4 singles matches versus Ferris State.
