Strong start leads No. 16 Hawks to 20-10 road win

The Rockhurst Hawks scored the first nine goals of the game in rolling to a 20-10 victory over Colorado State-Pueblo Tuesday in Pueblo, Colorado.

Sam Lindahl scored three of his team-high four goals in the first 20 minutes. Lindahl also posted one assist and six ground balls.

The 16th-ranked Hawks (6-1) outshot the Thunderwolves, 61-39. Lindahl and Drake O'Neill led Rockhurst with eight shots apiece.

O'Neill finished with three goals and one assist. Kai Trujillo and Jason Zabel each scored two goals. Brooks Hanson added one goal and two assists.

Sal Valdivia won 11-of-14 faceoffs and posted seven ground balls. Nick Mostrom and Zach Bodeau combined for 13 faceoff wins and nine ground balls.

Patrick Fitzsimmons, Hayden Harris and Boomer Kubik split time in goal, collecting 15 saves.
