Hawks back home to host Indianapolis, Bellarmine

The Rockhurst Hawks return home this week to take on Indianapolis (Thursday, 5:30 p.m.) and Bellarmine (Saturday, 1:00 p.m.).

The Hawks (9-11, 3-9 GLVC) have dropped three straight contests: at home vs. Maryville (81-80), at Truman State (85-75) and at Quincy (95-75).

Rockhurst will look to get back on track as senior guard Madeline Ronshausen continues to lead the way, averaging 18.1 points per game and 4.1 rebounds pg (both team-highs). Freshman Paige Pendley has brought energy and toughness to Coach Larry Park's rotation, averaging 9.9 points pg and 3.8 rebounds. The South Bend, Indiana duo of Daly Sullivan and Meghan Urbanski have both ignited the offense at times, averaging 8.5 points pg each.

UIndy enters Thursday's matchup with a record of 15-5 (8-4 GLVC). The Greyhounds have won three straights games: at home vs. Southwest Baptist (67-56), at Lewis (52-46) and at Illinois Springfield (66-56). UIndy has the GLVC's best scoring defense, allowing just 60.7 points per contest. Offensively, the Greyhounds are led by Laura Thomas (15.4 pg), Dasia Evans (12.6 pg) and McKenzy Telfair (10.0 pg).

Bellarmine enters the week at 11-8 (6-6 GLVC). The Knights have lost three of their last four and will try to make up some ground taking on William Jewell and Rockhurst this week. The Knights are led by Breia Torrens, who pours in 14.8 points pg. The chess match between Rockhurst and Bellarmine will be the Hawks' outside attack (averaging a GLVC-best 8.75 made threes per game) vs. the Knights' three-point defense (holding opponents to 28.3 percent, best in the conference).

Both games will be streaming on glvcsn.com, with Live Stats available here on rockhursthawks.com.
