Hawks drop high-scoring game at UMSL

Madeline Ronshausen and Paige Pendley combined for 62 points on Saturday, but the Missouri-St. Louis Tritons had too much firepower in a 96-83 win over Rockhurst in St. Louis.

Ronshausen finished with a game-high 32 points, including eight-of-12 from three-point range. Pendley poured in a career-high 30 points, including five-of-six from three and nine-of-13 from the foul line. The freshman from Elgin, Oklahoma also tallied a team-high five assists.

UMSL led 37-33 at halftime and then exploded for 59 points in the second half. Five Tritons scored in double-figures, led by McKenzie Lathrom's 25 points.

Ronshausen and Pendley's stellar shooting kept the Hawks in the game, but the Tritons finished the job, earning advantages in rebounds (39-22) and points in the paint (44-26).

Rockhurst (10-16, 4-14 GLVC) travels to Southwest Baptist next Thursday.
