Rockhurst goalkeeper Patrick Fitzsimmons has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week in men's lacrosse, it was announced by the league office Monday.

Fitzsimmons made eight saves in the Hawks' 8-2 win over Columbia College on Saturday. He allowed only two goals for an .800 save percentage.

The senior from O'Fallon, Missouri faced 25 shots and grabbed three ground balls. This is his first career GLVC Defensive Player of the Week award. Alex Pfeil was the last Rockhurst GLVC Defensive Player of the Week winner in April of 2019.
