The Quincy Hawks defeated Rockhurst 95-75, powered by a 60-point second half Saturday afternoon at the Pepsi Arena in Quincy, Illinois.
Quincy led 35-31 after a competitive first half, but the QU Hawks took control in the second half, anchored by 30 points from Laney Lantz and 17 points from Kennedy Prince.
Fourteen players scored for Rockhurst, including a team-high 13 points from
Madeline Ronshausen.
Paige Pendley added 10 points. Pendley and Ronshausen both shot a perfect six-of-six from the foul line.
Daly Sullivan tallied nine points on three-of-six from three-point range.
Lauren Krissman scored seven points, while
Lani Thompson and
Jessina Rada each added six points. Thompson had a team-high five rebounds.
Quincy was able to convert 22 Rockhurst turnovers into 30 points. QU shot a red-hot 60 percent from beyond the arc (12 of 20) and 51 percent from the floor (29 of 56).
Rockhurst (9-11, 3-9 GLVC) will return home to host Indianapolis and Bellarmine next week.
