Sullivan powers Hawks to 73-49 win over SBU Bearcats

Daly Sullivan scored 15 of her game-high 22 points in the third quarter to power the Rockhurst Hawks to a 73-49 victory over Southwest Baptist Wednesday in Bolivar, Missouri.

Sullivan connected on four 3-point field goals in the first four minutes of the second half to give the Hawks a 45-23 lead with 6:02 left in the third period. The senior guard matched her career-high in points while hitting eight-of-16 field goals, including five-of-nine 3-pointers.

Junior guard Jessina Rada scored 14 points while making all six of her field goals. She also had four assists and three steals.

Molly Hummel posted 11 points, three rebounds and two steals. Freshman Haley Wiskur and Reagan Dodd combined for 12 points and 16 rebounds.
The Hawks shot 51.9 percent from the field (28 of 54) and 45.0 percent from behind the 3-point line (nine of 20). Rockhurst outscored SBU 34-14 in the paint and scored 22 points off 22 SBU turnovers.

The Bearcats (0-3) connected on 15-of-49 field goals (30.7 percent) and 16-of-19 free throws (84.2 percent). Senior guard Kyleigh Vaught led the Bearcats with 10 points and six rebounds.

Rockhurst (4-2) returns to action at home on Jan. 3 against the Lewis Flyers.
