The Rockhurst men's basketball program will open its 100th season on Friday in Evansville, Indiana. The Hawks will meet Southern Indiana in a 3:15 p.m. tipoff at the Screaming Eagles Arena.

The Hawks begin their Centennial Season ranked No. 33 in all-time victories among NCAA Division II schools with 1,359 wins over the past 99 seasons.

Head coach Drew Diener enters his sixth season at Rockhurst with 10 returning players, including six starters from last year's 16-13 team.

Senior center Quinton Curry led the Hawks in scoring (15.8 ppg) and rebounding (7.7 pg). Senior guard Curtis Lewis averaged 14.8 points and 2.9 assists per game.

Senior guard Chris Hamil and junior forward Nick Volz also return after starting the past two seasons. Senior forward Lasse Gummerus and sophomore guard Thomas Faber saw spot starting duty last year.

Southern Indiana finished last season with a 22-8 overall record and finished fourth in the league's regular season at 13-7. The Eagles were picked to win the GLVC East Division.

Senior forward Emmanuel Little led USI last season with 16.1 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. Senior forward Josh Price posted 12.9 points and 7.8 rebounds per contest.

The Eagles defeated the Hawks 70-62 last season in Kansas City and lead the all-time series, 19-2.

Rockhurst wraps up the two-game road trip at McKendree on Sunday at 3 p.m. The Hawks edged the Bearcats, 82-79, last year in Kansas City. Rockhurst has a 6-1 lead in the all-time series.
