Strong finish leads Hawks to KC Cup win over Jewell

Caroline Lynch led Rockhurst with an 86 on day two.

The Rockhurst women's golf team came from behind to post a nine-shot victory over William Jewell on the final day of the KC Cup Tuesday at the Shoal Creek Golf Course in Kansas City, Missouri.

The Hawks fired a team score of 349 in the second round to finish with a 716 score over 36 holes. Caroline Lynch led Rockhurst with an 86 on day two to finish tied for ninth on the individual leaderboard with a 186 total over 36 holes.

Barbara Mae King followed up her first round 85 with an 89 in the second round to finish second individually at 174. Caroline Setter shot an 88 for the second consecutive day to finish fourth with a 176.

Emma Hughes and Emma Mullendore tied for fifth at 179. Ashley Fite placed seventh after shooting an 87 in the second round. Carly Krause improved six shots with a 90 on day two to tie Lynch for ninth place. Sadie Revell shot an 86 to finish 11th individually.
