Hawks grab one-shot lead after day one at Park event

Luke Brugman is in second place individually with a first-round score of 74.

Luke Brugman led the Rockhurst men's golf team to the top of the team leaderboard after the first round of the Virginia McCoy Park Fall Invitational Monday at the Tiffany Greens Golf Club in Kansas City, Missouri.

Brugman is in second place individually with a first-round score of 74. He birdied the eighth and 15th holes.

The Hawks shot a 324 team score, one shot better than the host Park Pirates.

Brett Blau and Nick Caldwell are tied for fourth after shooting an 81. Daven Bhagar is tied for eighth with an 83. Jack Junge, Andrew Park, Joseph Fallis and Will Armstrong each shot an 83 and are tied for 10th place.

The 36-hole event concludes Tuesday at Tiffany Greens.
