Rockhurst's Cathy Rometti has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week for women's soccer, it was announced by the league office Monday.

The senior defender led unbeaten Rockhurst to a pair of GLVC wins over the weekend. The played all 180 minutes on defense, helping hold opponents to just seven shots on frame with one goal.

Rometti scored the game-winning goal against Truman State on a 30-yard direct kick in the 76th minute.

The Hawks (5-0, 3-0 GLVC) next play at Southwest Baptist Friday night.
