Truman State shuts down Hawks, 1-0

Truman State scored less than two minutes into the second overtime to post a 1-0 victory over Rockhurst Friday night at Bourke Field.

The winning goal came on a 30-yard shot by Jake Koenig 91 seconds into the second overtime. The goal was preceded by a Truman corner kick.

Rockhurst tallied two shots in the first overtime period, including a wicked shot by Pablo Salvador Lopez that was saved by Truman keeper Roy Hart.

The Hawks (1-2-1, 1-1 GLVC) finished with 14 shots, while Truman (3-1, 2-0 GLVC) collected 13 shots. Adam Burnett led the Hawks with three shots. Preston Mboob and Lopez each had two shots.

Peter Baker made two saves in goal for the Hawks, who host Quincy on Sunday afternoon.
