Seventeenth-ranked Rockhurst opened its Nebraska trip in style with a pair of 3-0 sweeps Friday -- defeating New Mexico Highlands (25-14, 25-6, 25-13) and Arkansas Tech (25-12, 25-15, 25-15) -- at the Rosella Meier Fall Classic at the University of Nebraska-Kearney.
In the morning match, Rockhurst outhit New Mexico Highlands, .390 percent to .074 percent. Outside hittersÂ
Karli Reichert (14 kills, 11 digs) and
Alyssa Woodman (13 kills, 11 digs) each posted double-doubles for the Hawks.
Fellow senior
Mary Rolf added 10 kills in her season debut.
Justice Wingate was a force in the middle, racking up six blocks.Â
Dani Prusha recorded a game-high 39 assists.
Jessica Schlautman added nine digs.
Hitting percentage told the story again in the afternoon match, as the Hawks hit .357 compared to Arkansas Tech's .047. Reichert posted a game-high 14 kills and eight digs.
Rolf tallied 12 kills. Woodman had seven kills while tying freshman
Jadyn Makovicka for the team lead digs with 10. Prusha was busy again at setter, adding 32 more assists.
The Hawks (4-2) will be tested tomorrow against the University of Mary (2:00 p.m.) and host school, No. 8 Nebraska-Kearney (6:00 p.m.).
