Hawks post 12-6 win over No. 18 Lindenwood

Rockhurst scored the first three goals and never looked back in defeating 18th-ranked Lindenwood 12-6 Saturday at Bourke Field.

Kai Trujillo tallied four points and Alex Pfeil made a career-high 18 saves to lead the 14th-ranked Hawks to their 11th win of the season.

The Hawks jumped out to a 5-2 halftime lead and opened the second half on a 3-0 run to take an 8-2 lead. Trujillo's third goal gave the Hawks a 10-4 lead after three periods.

Collin Fischer collected two goals and one assist. Blake Bellinger and Nick Schveninger each had two goals. Drake O'Neil posted one goal and two assists. Sam Lindahl added one goal and one assist.

Zach Bodeau and Sal Valdivia combined for 19-of-22 faceoff wins and 17 ground balls. Connor Bateman finished with a team-high four caused turnovers.

Rockhurst outshot Lindenwood, 46-44. O'Neill and Trujillo led the Hawks with nine shots apiece. Lindahl posted five shots.

The Hawks (11-2, 5-0 GLVC) close the regular season at eighth-ranked Indianapolis on Friday, April 19.
