The Rockhurst men's tennis team posted a 7-0 victory over William Jewell in their conference opener Friday at the Loyola Park Tennis Courts.

The Hawks jumped out to a 1-0 lead after doubles play. Tarass Thevenaz and Martijn Eleveld won No. 1 doubles by a 6-3 score. Nicolas Leon and Masao Perret teamed up to win No. 2 doubles, 6-1.

Thevenaz (No. 1), Perret (No. 2), Eleveld (No. 5) and Ryan Moody (No. 6) won their singles matches in two sets. Nicolas Leon (No. 3) and Santiago Rodriguez Villegas (No. 4) both won in three sets.

The Hawks are now 8-6 (1-0 GLVC) on the season.
