Quincy sweeps Rockhurst with walk-off wins

Quincy swept Rockhurst with a pair of 4-3 walk-off wins Monday in Quincy, Illinois. Quincy won Game 1 with a home run in the 11th inning and captured Game 2 with a two-out, bases-loaded balk.

Rockhurst rallied to tie the score at 3-3 in the opener with single runs in the seventh and eighth innings. Quincy's Lance Logsdon led off the bottom of the 11th with a home run to right field.

Colby Smith led the Hawks with two hits and two RBIs, including a run-scoring single in the eighth. Noah Huston and Tommy Kraus also posted two hits.

Grant Ruediger allowed three runs on seven hits in 5.1 innings. Reliever Nathan Miller (0-1) gave up one run on three hits in 4.2 innings.

In the nightcap, Quincy scored two runs to the seventh to rally from a 3-2 deficit. Rockhurst grabbed a 2-0 lead in the sixth on an RBI single by Alex Van Pelt and an RBI groundout by Nathan Mark. Smith gave the visitors a 3-2 lead with an RBI on a fielder's choice in the seventh.

Jack Eisenbarger allowed four runs on five hits with seven strikeouts in 6.0 innings. Daniel Kohl (0-2) took the loss after entering the game with runners on second and third in the bottom of the seventh.

The Hawks (3-10, 0-3 GLVC) will play a single game at Central Missouri at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
