Eisenbarger throws first no-hitter in school history

Jack Eisenbarger made history by throwing the first no-hitter in school history. The junior left-hander shut down Bemidji State over seven innings in a 2-0 victory in the second game of a doubleheader Friday at the LaRoche Baseball Complex in Fort Scott, Kansas.

Eisenbarger struck out 10 and walked three in winning his first game of the season. He retired the side in order in the second, fourth and seventh innings. He struck out the side in the first with a runner on second base.

The Hawks broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning. Michael Ruffolo hit a two-out single to bring home Eric Kuse in the fourth. Kuse drove in the final run with his second single of the game in the fifth.

Senior left-hander Grant Ruediger also held the Beavers scoreless in the first game. He pitched a three-hitter in the Hawks' 6-0 victory.

Ruediger (1-2) struck out three and walked three. He retired the side in order in the first and fourth innings.

Garrett McNally led the Hawks on offense. The junior third baseman went two-for-three with two RBIs. He hit a solo home run to left field in the second and added an RBI single in the sixth.

Nathan Mark drove in three runs in the sixth with a pinch-hit double to right-center. Alex Van Pelt gave Rockhurst a 2-0 lead with a sacrifice fly in the third. Noah Huston had two of the Hawks' seven hits.

The Hawks (3-7) have now thrown 26 consecutive scoreless innings.
