Fourteen players scored goals to lead Rockhurst to season-opening 27-6 victory over Benedictine Sunday in Atchison, Kansas.
The Hawks jumped out to a 9-1 lead after the first period and took a 15-3 lead into halftime.
Rockhurst outscored the Ravens 12-3 in the second half.
Drake O'Neill led the Hawks with four goals, five assists and five ground balls.
Collin Fischer posted six points on four goals and two assists.
Grant VanOverbeke tallied two goals and four assists, while
Nick Schveninger had two goals and two assists.
Oliver Byers collected three goals.
Kai Trujillo,
Cole Wright and
Will Tegenkamp added two goals apiece.
Rockhurst outshot Benedictine, 74-26. O'Neill led the Hawks with 15 shots. VanOverbeke posted 11 shots and
Sam Lindahl added 10 shots.
Zach Bodeau and
Sal Valdivia combined to win 31 faceoffs and 18 ground balls.
Alex Pfeil and
Patrick Fitzsimmons combined for eight saves.
The Hawks host Saint Mary in their home opener on Friday night.
