The regular season will wrap up this weekend in the GLVC as Rockhurst faces challenging road games at Drury on Thursday (7:45 p.m.) and Missouri S&T on Saturday (3:00 p.m.).
Rockhurst (16-10, 10-6 GLVC) brings a six-game winning streak into its second meeting with Drury and currently sits sixth in the GLVC Point Rating System with the top eight advancing to the GLVC Tournament. The Hawks won their first meeting, 62-60, on Jan. 5 in Kansas City. Drury leads the all-time series, 71-45.
The Hawks are coming off a 96-80 victory at William Jewell last Saturday behind 60.3 percent from the field.
Chris Hamil led the way with 20 points, while
Nick Volz posted 19 points and 11 rebounds.
Curtis Lewis scored 18 points, seven rebounds and three assists.
Lewis ranks 11th in scoring (14.3 pg) and ninth in assists (3.65) in the GLVC. Hamil stands 14th in scoring (13.5 pg) and Volz ranks 12th in rebounding (5.6 pg) in the GLVC.
Drury (17-10. 11-5 GLVC) has won its last eight games and is ranked 10th in the NCAA Midwest Regional rankings. The Panthers are led by sophomore guard Conley Garrison, who ranks sixth in scoring (17.5 pg), third in assists (4.9 pg) and second in 3-point field goals made (3.0 pg) in the GLVC.
The Hawks escaped with a 72-69 victory over Missouri S&T in Kansas City on Jan. 3. The Miners (5-19, 3-12 GLVC) have won two of their four games. S&T's scoring leader is junior guard CJ Hedgepeth (11.9 pg). Rockhurst leads the all-time series, 22-12.
