Rockhurst women's basketball returns to Mason-Halpin Field House, taking on Mid-America Christian University Friday at 5:30 p.m.
The Hawks (3-3) saw their three-game winning streak come to an end Tuesday at William Jewell in a 68-64 defeat. In its three games prior to Tuesday, Rockhurst averaged 87.7 points per game and will look to heat back up Friday as they resume non-conference action.
Meghan Urbanski (13.5 points per game),
Madeline Ronshausen (13.0 pg) and
Daly Sullivan (10.5 pg) lead a balanced Rockhurst attack.
Hailey Dolphin scored a team-high 13 points at Jewell. Sullivan and
Lauren Krissman are tied for the team lead in assists with 14 on the year. Krissman has racked up a team-best 12 steals, while
Reagan Dodd leads the Hawks in rebounding at 4.2 per game.
Mid-America Christian enters Friday's contest with a record of 7-2. The Evangels were receiving votes in this week's NAIA Coaches Top 25 poll. MACU, winners of three straight games, are averaging 82.8 points per game, while limiting opponents to just 65.3 pg. Alexis Shannon leads the high-powered Evangel offense, pouring in 18.9 points per game, including 14-of-30 from three-point range (46.7 percent). Lexi Hernandez averages 13.1 pg, while Loralei Siliga scores 10.6 pg. The Evangels rely heavily on the three-point shot and have knocked down 76 thus far, north of eight per game.
