The Rockhurst Hawks face their final two games of the regular season this weekend as they visit Lewis (Friday, 7:00 p.m.) and Illinois Springfield (Saturday, 3:00 p.m.).
The Hawks (25-6, 12-1 GLVC) remain at No. 20 in this week's AVCA Coaches poll and have jumped to No. 6 in the Midwest Regional rankings. Coach
Tracy Rietzke's team has won nine straight matches and enters the weekend in sole possession of first place in the GLVC.
Playing at Lewis is always a tall task. The Flyers are 24-4 on the year (10-3 in conference), ranked 12th in the country and first in the Midwest Region. Lewis has won eight of its last nine matches, including three straight GLVC wins and an undefeated showing at the Midwest Region Crossover in mid-October.
Illinois Springfield enters the weekend with a record of 18-12 (7-6 GLVC). The Prairie Stars are in eighth place in the conference and will be hungry this weekend as they try to hang on for a top-eight finish, meaning a berth in the GLVC Tournament in their home state.
Statistically, it is the usual suspects for Rockhurst near the top of the GLVC. After a big weekend, setter
Dani Prusha is now tied for first in the league in assists per set at 11.32.
Mary Rolf ranks third in the GLVC with a hitting percentage of .347.
Karli Reichert's 3.90 kills per set rank third in the conference.
Alyssa Woodman is seventh at 3.33 kills per set.
Jadyn Makovicka ranks fourth in the league in digs, averaging 4.76 per set, and
Justice Wingate ranks eighth in the GLVC in blocks with 1.06 per set.
