The 19th-ranked Rockhurst Hawks hit the road this weekend for a pair of GLVC matches -- Friday at Quincy (7 p.m.) and Saturday at Truman State (4 p.m.).
The Hawks, winners of four straight, moved up one spot in this week's AVCA Top 25 poll. Coach
Tracy Rietzke's team enjoyed sweeps over GLVC foes Missouri S&T and Maryville last weekend. At 8-1 in conference play, the Hawks are in second place, just one game behind 9-0 Drury.
Reigning GLVC Offensive Player of the Week
Karli Reichert ranks second in the conference with an average of 3.92 kills per set. Fellow senior and All-American
Alyssa Woodman is averaging 3.31 kills per set.
Dani Prusha continues to set up her teammates well with 10.98 assists per set, the third-best average in the GLVC.
Jadyn Makovicka ranks fifth in the league with 4.48 digs per set.
Mary Rolf's hitting percentage of .379 remains the highest in the GLVC.
Quincy enters Friday's match with a record of 11-14 (4-5 GLVC) but has played well lately, taking first place Drury to five sets last weekend and winning four of their previous five matches before that. The Hawks have not lost to Quincy since 2011, winning the last 11 matches.
Truman State enters the weekend at 10-14 (3-6 GLVC). The Bulldogs swept Southwest Baptist in their previous match and will be looking to move up in the standings to insert themselves in the mix for a GLVC Tournament berth. Rockhurst is riding a nine-match winning streak over Truman.
