Rockhurst's Megan Meyers has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week for women's soccer, it was announced by the league office Monday.
The sophomore goalkeeper from Pacific, Missouri posted two conference shutout wins over the weekend in 180 minutes of action. She recorded five saves in a 1-0 upset win against No. 17 McKendree last Friday and made another five saves in a 2-0 victory over Southern Indiana on Sunday.
This marks Meyers' first career GLVC Defensive Player of the Week award. Teammate Cathy Rometti earned the same honor three weeks ago.
The Hawks (10-1, 8-1 GLVC) next play at Lindenwood Friday night.
