Hawks host special School Day Game at noon

The Rockhurst Hawks (8-5) will host the Kansas Christian College Falcons (9-3) in a special School Day game at noon Tuesday at Mason-Halpin Field House.

The men's basketball team will be hosting a basketball clinic from 10 to 11 a.m. for third through sixth graders from Troost Elementary School, followed by lunch, and then making spirit sign posters. Rockhurst players have been visiting Troost Elementary throughout the semester during class time and recess time, mentoring and developing relationships with the kids.

"This is a great event for our team and the students at Troost," said Rockhurst coach Drew Diener. "The students have looked forward to this field trip since we started visiting the school back in September. As our guys have visited, the students have gotten to know our team and become fans of Rockhurst Basketball.

"Each year, we have received great feedback from the administrators about the days' event. They especially enjoy the basketball clinic and drills that our staff and players put them through in the morning. It has been fun welcoming their teachers, students, and counselors to our campus."

Kansas Christian College is a private, four-year Christian college in Overland Park, Kansas. The Falcons compete in the National Christian College Athletic Association. The Falcons posted wins over Manhattan Christian College (97-80) and Ozark Christian College (75-62) in the Cookson Hills Classic in Kansas, Oklahoma last weekend.
