Hawks begin road trip with loss at Indianapolis

The Indianapolis Greyhounds dominated the fourth quarter, including scoring 11 of the game's final 12 points, to pull away from Rockhurt for an 80-63 victory Thursday night in Indianapolis.

The matchup featured two outstanding individual performances as Rockhurst's Briahtia Sebek and UIndy's Emma Benoit each scored 25 points.

Sebek did much of her damage from 3-point range, shooting five-of-seven from beyond the arc. Benoit cashed in at the free throw line, shooting a perfect 15-for-15 from the charity stripe. The Greyhounds' junior forward also pulled in a game-high 13 rebounds.

Madeline Ronshausen added 14 points and a team-high nine rebounds for Rockhurst. Freshman forward Reagan Dodd also provided good energy, scoring eight points, collecting five rebounds, and tying Ronshausen for a team-high three assists.

UIndy opened the game on an 8-0 run, but the Hawks battled back to take their first lead of the game, 25-24, on a Dodd layup at the 7:52 mark of the second quarter, part of a 9-0 Rockhurst run. The Hawks took a 39-36 lead into halftime.

The Greyhounds surged ahead in the third quarter when a 6-0 run turned a 43-43 tie into a 49-43 lead. A Sebek 3-pointer pulled the Hawks within three early in the fourth quarter at 59-56, but that's as close as Rockhurst would get. Indianapolis outscored the Hawks 24-10 in the final period.
