Rockhurst returns to conference play on Thursday

The Rockhurst Hawks return to conference action on Thursday night. The Hawks (6-5, 1-1 GLVC) host the Missouri S&T Miners at 7:30 p.m. at Mason-Halpin Field House. Rockhurst leads the all-time series, 21-12.

On Saturday afternoon, the Hawks host Drury (7-5, 1-0 GLVC). The Panthers hold a 71-44 all-time series lead. Drury plays at William Jewell Thursday night.

The Hawks are averaging 80.6 points per game. Sophomore forward Quinton Curry ranks 13th in scoring (15.0 pg), eighth in rebounding (6.0 pg), third in field goal percentage (63.1) and 12th in blocked shots (0.73 pg) in the GLVC. Sophomore guard Chris Hamil stands 19th in scoring (14.1 pg), ninth in 3-point field goals (2.36 pg) and 11th in steals (1.45 pg) in the GLVC.

Sophomore guard Curtis Lewis ranks sixth in assists (4.55 per game) and 25th in scoring (13.1 pg) in the GLVC. Senior forward Connor Evans is 17th in rebounding (5.5 pg), 11th in steals (1.45 pg) and fourth in blocked shots (1.09 pg) in the GLVC. Sophomore forward Eddie Muench ranks ninth in 3-point field goals made (2.36) in the GLVC.

The Miners are the second-highest scoring team in the conference with an average of 86.9 points per game. CJ Hedgepeth is averaging 12 points per game, while Juwan Miller is scoring 11.2 points per contest and Dulan Scott is at 11 points per game.

Scott and Yahmir Muhammed led the Miners with 14 points apiece in Sunday's 79-66 exhibition loss to Southern Illinois Edwardsville. Myers has made 58.3 percent of his three-point tries. Miller is also the team leader in rebounding (5.7 per game) and in assists with 31. The Miners have one individual leader in the conference in Mitch Fairless, whose field goal percentage mark of 77.8 percent heads the charts in the league.

Drury is led by sophomore guard Conley Garrison, who ranks fifth in scoring (18.3 points pg) and eighth in assists (4.50 pg) in the conference. The Panthers opened GLVC play with a 90-81 win over Missouri S&T on Dec. 1.
